Xmind launches AI Work Breakdown

Xmind

Project visualisation company Xmind has announced the launch of a redesigned platform that extends its well‑known mind mapping tools into AI‑powered project management. The update introduces new features aimed at helping users plan and track work more efficiently, including automated task generation, synchronised Gantt chart and mind map views and simplified project dependencies.

At the centre of the new release is AI Work Breakdown, which uses artificial intelligence to turn project ideas into structured plans in seconds. Users can switch seamlessly between visual and timeline‑based layouts while linked tasks update automatically when deadlines or durations change.

“We’ve always believed in making complex thinking simple and enjoyable,” said Mango Du, COO and cofounder of Xmind. “This release is about disrupting ourselves, expanding beyond mind maps into a space where creativity meets productivity.” The company said the changes were designed to bridge the gap between brainstorming and execution.

Analysts note that the move positions Xmind to compete in the fast‑growing project management software market, expected to reach almost £8bn globally by 2026. Its emphasis on lightweight design and automatic synchronisation aims to appeal to teams seeking a more flexible, visually driven alternative to traditional tools.

The new version of Xmind is available now across web, desktop and mobile platforms.
