The Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB) has announced plans to support another 30 industry professionals on their journey towards Chartered Project Professional (ChPP) status, in partnership with the Association for Project Management (APM).

Applications for the 2025/26 programme are now open, with a deadline of 22 October and an introductory webinar on 30 October.

Demand far outstripped places for last year’s scheme so the ECITB has doubled the available spaces, enabling 20 project specialists from across the engineering construction sector to achieve ChPP status this year.

“The ChPP programme is a great way for individuals to achieve the chartered status and we congratulate those that have completed the programme so far this year,” said Matt Knights, director of regional operations at the ECITB, “We recognise the importance of the project management discipline across the engineering construction industry and invest in the programme to ensure this kind of recognition can be accessed. Becoming a chartered project professional shows a commitment to professional standards, continuing professional development and ethical and professional conduct. ChPP status also gives assurance to employers and clients showing achievement at a defined level.”

This year’s ChPP programme will be delivered remotely by Changescope Ltd, allowing applicants from across the UK to participate. The process includes a series of workshops and webinars, spread out over several months.

Throughout the course, candidates must demonstrate their leadership qualities, ability to manage complex projects and proficiency with tools and methodologies vital to professional project delivery.
