Thames Water awards £400m framework for infrastructure upgrades and programme management

Thames Water has announced the completion of a £400m Asset, Capital and Engineering Professional Services framework procurement exercise, aimed at supporting its infrastructure upgrades over the next five years (2025-2030).

The move comes as the company anticipates its capital programme during AMP8 to be up to three times the size of its existing programme, addressing the dual challenges of ageing infrastructure and climate change on its assets.

The newly established framework addresses key aspects of Thames Water’s infrastructure upgrade strategy and grants Thames Water access to a wealth of expertise, including engineering, environmental, commercial and programme management professional services, with a substantial value of up to £400m.

Thames Water has awarded framework agreements to ten companies, including industry leaders such as AECOM, Arcadis, AtkinsRéalis, Binnies, Costain, CPC Project Services, Jacobs, Mott MacDonald, Stantec and Turner & Townsend.

Preetinder Dhanoa, Capital Procurement Business Partner at Thames Water, said, “We are delighted to confirm these critical framework awards, which will be used to source asset engineering and capital professional services that are critical to the success of Thames Water’s AMP8 programme. This agreement will introduce a number of improvements to our previous arrangements, including driving value through innovation and partnership working.”
