Savills has announced the appointment of Emily Slupek as director in its project management team in Oxford.
This high-profile recruitment underlines Savills’ commitment to expanding its presence in the burgeoning science, technology, and education sectors.
Emily Slupek brings more than two decades of experience in the built environment, with a particular focus on complex development projects in the science and technology sector.
Her portfolio includes leading prominent schemes such as British Land’s redevelopment of Botley Road in Oxford, transforming bulky retail into 300,000 sq ft of state-of-the-art laboratory space, and the delivery of the highly complex SOMIL mini cyclotron and hot cells labs for Oxford University.
Prior to joining Savills, Slupek headed the Oxford Project Management team at Bidwells. Her involvement in Advanced Oxford and her nomination to the NLA Innovations District Expert Panel from 2021-2023 demonstrate her industry standing.
In her new role, Slupek will spearhead the growth of Savills’ Oxford Project Management team, with a primary focus on the science, tech, and education sectors. Her appointment is expected to foster collaborative efforts with project management teams in Cambridge, London and Savills Science, enhancing the firm’s cross-regional capabilities.
“This is an exciting strategic hire to support our growing presence in project management in the Oxford science, tech and education sector. Emily’s experience with significant and notable projects across the Oxford market makes her an invaluable addition to our team,” said Simon Collett, head of BPC at Savills.
Slupek said: “I’m really excited to be joining Savills at this time with its strong ambitions to grow the project management team in Oxford and expand the work it does within the science, tech and education sectors. These are key sectors at the forefront of innovation, and I’m proud to have this opportunity to help deliver more critical space to meet the market demands in Oxford.”
Demand for specialised project management in the science and technology sectors is at an all-time high and Savills’ investment in top talent like Slupek demonstrates the firm’s commitment to meeting these market needs.
